2023 GMC Sierra 1500
Trucks by GMC stand out for their useful technology, raw power, and overall practicality. The Sierra 1500 is a popular full-size truck for drivers seeking a dependable worker, a sumptuous highway cruiser, or anything in between. To decide which model is right for you, here's a closer look at the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The striking appearance and broad stance of the Sierra 1500 make a powerful statement. It comes in eight trim levels: Pro, SLE, Elevation, SLT, AT4, Denali, AT4X, and Denali Ultimate. The AT4-X supreme off-roader is all new for 2023. Buyers can select between a single-row normal cab, a two-row double cab, and an extra-roomy crew cab.
GMC provides the trademark squared-off wheel arches expected as part of a towering, blocky body with upright front and rear ends. The starting Pro model keeps it simple but still premium, riding on 17-inch steel wheels, but the clever chrome garnish on higher-end variants transforms it into one of the fanciest high-riding trucks. Other drivers prefer the skid plates, all-terrain tires, and increased ground clearance on the AT4 and AT4X.
Engine (Power)
The Sierra comes with four engines, two transmissions, and rear- or all-wheel drive. The standard engine is a 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. It has an eight-speed automatic transmission. Two V-8 engines are available: a 355-horsepower 5.3-liter and a 420-horsepower 6.2-liter. A six-cylinder diesel engine with high torque outputs 460 pound-feet and a potential towing capacity of 13,000 lbs. A 10-speed automatic transmission connects all three engines.
Interior
The All-New GMC Sierra 1500 features a spacious, comfortable cabin with authentic materials such as an Alpine Umber interior with full-grain leather seating on the Denali Ultimate. Not to mention, you'll get intuitive technology such as a Bose Premium Sound System with a Richbass subwoofer and over 40 diagonal inches of combined driver-focused digital displays. The 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 was designed to thrive on construction jobs and campsites too, with an optional MultiPro Tailgate and a GMC CarbonPro bed with carbon-fiber composite material. The CarbonPro GMC bed has the best in short-bed cargo volume at 63.9 cubic feet.
The Sierra's new interior control layout would appeal to techy drivers as well as those who like GMC's old-school vibe. Knobs, buttons, and switches are simple to locate and offer a quick alternative to the touch-screen, which has lightning-fast boot-ups and responses. As of last year, Sierra SLE grades and above come standard with a 13.4-inch touch-screen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch completely digital instrument cluster. The top-of-the-line models have a 15.0-inch head-up display. The Sierra infotainment system includes Google Maps, Google Assistant, the Google Play store, and wireless connectivity. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also available.
Safety Features
Receiving a five-star safety rating from the NHTSA, the 2023 GMC Sierra comes standard with a comprehensive range of basic and optional safety features. Blind-spot monitors, automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and automatic high beams are standard features on the Sierra. Front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitors that cover a trailer, and GM's Super Cruise limited hands-free driver-assist technology are also available.
