2023 GMC Acadia
Midsize SUVs are ideal for families who need to transport the whole gang and their belongings on a vacation, without carrying around a full-size SUV. When it comes to an excellent, adaptable midsize SUV, the 2023 GMC Acadia is hard to beat, with versions that are off-road-oriented, luxurious, and more. Take a look at some of its amazing features below.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
With the removal of the starting SL model, the GMC Acadia 2023 now comes in four trim levels: SLE, SLT, AT4, and Denali. The SLE comes standard with an antenna, a body-color roof-mounted shark fin, body-color door handles, C-Shaped LED trademark lighting, IntelliBeam LED headlamps, and front and rear intermittent wipers. The SLT trim comes standard with 18-inch aluminum wheels instead of the SLE's 17-inch set, while the AT4 gets 17-inch machined aluminum and Denali gets 20-inch ultra-bright machined aluminum wheels. Except for the SLE trim, all trims include a hands-free power liftgate. The AT4 comes equipped with black center caps with a red GMC emblem.
Engine (Power)
The Acadia's base engine is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The optional 3.6-liter V-6 engine produces 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. Both engines include a nine-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive as standard, with all-wheel drive available. Though both engines do the job and then some, the V-6 brings a speedier, more exciting output.
Performance
Front-wheel drive is standard on the SLE, SLT, and Denali grades, with all-wheel drive optional. All-wheel drive is standard on the AT4. The adaptive suspension, which comes standard on the Denali and is optional on the SLT model with all-wheel drive, adjusts the dampers every two milliseconds to help smooth out the ride over bumps or tighten things up if the driver loses traction. The front-drive variant with the turbocharged four-cylinder engine gets 22 city mpg and 29 highway mpg. The V-6 with front-wheel drive gets a still-great 19 city mpg and 27 highway mpg.
Interior
This dependable and easy-to-navigate vehicle has three rows of seating for up to seven total passengers and is outfitted with features to keep everyone comfortable on lengthy travels. By adding second-row captain's seats, it becomes a six-passenger vehicle with plenty of legroom all around. Either way, you'll get 12.8 cubic feet of cargo space.
The infotainment system has a simple menu layout and responds quickly, but you also get physical buttons for audio and climate controls. An 8-inch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hot spot, six-speaker audio, satellite radio, USB ports, and Bluetooth are all standard infotainment features.
Safety Features
The Acadia includes three years of an OnStar and Connected Services plan, along with automatic emergency braking, a following distance indicator, forward collision alert, front pedestrian braking, front and rear park assist, and an HD rear vision camera. You'll also get the LATCH system for child seats, rear child security door locks, a rear seat reminder, lane change alert, lane keep assist, and rear cross-traffic alert. The tire-pressure monitoring system includes a chime to let you know when a tire has been filled to the ideal amount of air.
